Remarkable Women of the Bible – Eve

Remarkable Creation

“Eve”

“Eve was the mother of all living” This was part of the beginning of time in Genesis 3:20.

I am sure most people have heard of the story of Adam and Eve, the first two people that ever was created on this earth. Eve was known as:

“The First Woman”

God’s first words about the creation of mankind are these:

“So, God created man in His own image; in the image of God he created him, male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27)

Creation was complete! God was so busy for six days creating His beautiful new world. Now the stage was set. God’s magnificent scenery stood finished and in place. His sun, His moon and stars lighted up His perfect planet. All creatures great and small enjoyed a perfect environment.  Yet, all the universe stood at attention, awaiting God’s final creations. God presented His showpiece to the rest of nature. Firstly, Adam (Genesis 2:7)

Remarkable Women of the Bible series – Introduction

Remarkable!  What a wonderful word to describe the women of the Bible! Elizabeth says – their life changing messages – are available to you and me today!

If your life resembles one long obstacle course. Everyday is filled with challenges. In spite of our schedules, plans, dreams, goals, life keeps coming at us with its constant profusion of stress, lifes problems, set backs, and unsustainable situations.

Truly, life can often seem to be more than we can manage on our own!

Help and hope are available from the remarkable women of the bible. Whatever we are dealing with, they have experienced it. They have faced the challenges of married life, and child – raising. They know about going ‘without’, about loss, about old age, and about death. All of the pain, sorrow, confusion, and the difficulties have touched their hearts, and now they live on in God’s word to instruct and encourage us as we cope with our lives today.

I love how Elizabeth says that she “likes to think of sitting down with one of them, and having a cup of coffee with them. “

With this description:

“There they sit, in all their wisdom, ready, willing, and able to pass on what they have learned. They are more than happy to tell us how, through strong faith in God, they triumphed in their situations. Their hearts are open to you and me, and through their lives we can find great wisdom and practical help. And God has given us their lives in His word so that we can learn their life-changing messages!”

This is going to be a series of “Remarkable Women of the Bible”, and yes, all inspiration is from Elizabeth George. She is an eloquent, beautiful and sophisticated writer, but I won’t be copying the book word for word, as I want to delve into each character immensely and in-depth, so that you can experience something greater than yourself! May you learn to take each character fully, and grasp their qualities and traits to become more and more “remarkable“! I have read the book, and now want to share with you my revelations, and understandings of these women. I absolutely LOVE devotionals, and reading on the characters in so many different types of books. Like 1-year devotionals that specifically target the main character women of the bible. This book stood out to me BECAUSE of the word “remarkable”, because all girls want to have steadfast qualities JUST like them! I want to buy Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman: Proverbs 31 (A Woman After God’s Own Heart®) so bad!

A message from Elizabeth:

“Beloved, these dear women are God’s gift to you and me. Whether or not you have a mother or a friend or a mentor who is available, you have the remarkable women of the Bible. Let them share with you. Let them encourage you. Let them counsel you. Let them show you the best way to handle every day and every difficulty.

May God richly bless you as you look to Him and the remarkable women in His Word for His timeless principles for living your life today!”

Life Lessons from the future Queen Esther

ESTHER HEADING

The Book of Esther is an exciting account which gives us insight into God’s remarkable  and purposeful plan for our lives. The story gives us some powerful lessons about courage, divine timing and God’s love. As The Old Testament reveals, Esther is a Jewish woman living in Persia and brought up by her cousin, Mordecai. She was taken to the King of the Persian Empire to be his concubine—but because he believed there was unique about Esther, he made her queen. However, Mordecai didn’t tell the king about a primary concern —Esther was of Jewish heritage.
