Life Lessons from the future Queen Esther

ESTHER HEADING

The Book of Esther is an exciting account which gives us insight into God’s remarkable  and purposeful plan for our lives. The story gives us some powerful lessons about courage, divine timing and God’s love. As The Old Testament reveals, Esther is a Jewish woman living in Persia and brought up by her cousin, Mordecai. She was taken to the King of the Persian Empire to be his concubine—but because he believed there was unique about Esther, he made her queen. However, Mordecai didn’t tell the king about a primary concern —Esther was of Jewish heritage.

A Tribute to Diana “Princess of Wales” 20 years on…

Buckingham Palace recently paid tribute to the modern day Princess of Wales, Diana Spencer at the time of the 20th anniversary of her death parallel to some exhibition of gifts to the Queen.

The Royal Collection Trust announced the exhibition which was held in the palace’s Music Room, which is usually the location of royal christenings, including Prince William’s christening as well.

You may have seen in photographs that the display is of her desk, which has a blue leather notebook where she wrote on imprinted writing paper with photos of her sons also surrounding the writing paper exhibited on the writing desk (as per below.)

Prince William and Harry also had some of her private heirlooms such as her boarding school wooden chest, with “D Spencer” written on it.

She would take it with her to the private West Heath girls’ school which was close by Kent. And would also take with her her first ever typewriter which she kept in the drawing room of her apartment.

So, this summer in England indicates the 20th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales on 31 August 1997.  A date most people in the world will never forget……

The Princess managed many official duties and tasks in sustaining The Queen, when at home in the U.K. and overseas.

So, in tribute to Diana, her work is remembered by a remarkable display in the Music Room, which is one of the State Rooms open to the public as a portrayal of the Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace.

The main centrepiece of the display is the writing desk where she would work in her sitting room at Kensington Palace, writing letters, and reading official press conference letters and information.

Many of these objects on and around her desk have been specifically selected by Prince William and Harry to show their mother’s dedication to obligations and their recollection of her.

The items on display are as follows:

Blue leather blotter and brown leather letter rack

Diana always wrote to thank the people who had welcomed her on official visits.  The notebook and mahogany letter rack were a part of Diana’s desk accessories until her death.  The letter rack contains her embossed writing paper and envelopes.

Silver calendar

The Cartier calendar was a present to Diana from the President and First Lady Nancy Reagan on the occasion of the official visit to the USA with ‘The Prince and Princess of Wales’ in November 1985.

Leather photograph frame

This frame always sat on her desk which of course, contains photographs of friends and family.

Leather briefcase

The Asprey briefcase was a present from the “Worshipful Company of Glovers” to Diana on the event of her marriage in 1981.

Round enamel boxes

These small boxes were put in order as presents from “Halcyon Days of London” for Diana to give to her hosts on official trips overseas.

One displayed is one from the official visit to Brazil by The Prince and Princess of Wales – 1991 in April.

It is adorned with a picture of the sculpture of Christ the Redeemer.

Ballet shoes

Diana loved dancing but particularly loved ballet.  These shoes, which she used, hung on the door of her drawing room in Kensington Palace. Apparently she was Patron of the English National Ballet!

Wooden school tuck box and typewriter

As mentioned previously with the name “D Spencer” written on it, this box was used by her for sweets and taken to boarding school.  It was kept in The Princess’s sitting room at Kensington Palace. Her childhood typewriter was also kept in the sitting room.

Cassette tapes

Diana loved music and always listened to the radio and tapes when working at her desk.  The tapes are albums by (Sir) Elton John, George Michael, Diana Ross as well as classical pieces of opera and piano music.

There is also a special major exhibition mounted this year, entitled “Diana: Her Fashion Story”, tracing the Princess’s life through her evolving fashion style across two decades.

I was deeply touched and moved by the recent program “Diana: Our mother – her Life and Legacy“. You can click on the link or just watch here.

This display will be open to the public from the 22nd of July to October the 1st.

Charming Catherine of Cambridge

I have loved my copy of British Vogue’s issue of 100 years in FASHION. The one with Kate Middleton on the front is the June Issue, but by far it is my favourite British Vogue magazine. I have about three books on Kate, and have read quite a bit about her the past few years. Katie Nicholl is a journalist/author/royal correspondent that I follow to get information on the Royal and she gives lots of detailed information on upcoming events such as the Tour that is going to happen in Canada very soon! They will be visiting Kelowna and apparently are planning on taking little George and Princess Charlotte along with them.

You can find their recent work on the Vanity Fair website as well which has LOTS of information on where and when they will be doing engagements. british-vogue-kate-middleton

If you want to read about Kate Middleton I suggest you buy the book, KATE by Katie Nicholl herself! It is the BEST book I have read on her and I absolutely loved it and I have uploaded a picture of it on my Instagram a little while ago, when I first started becoming a Kate fan! Go to Katie Nicholl’s website for MORE details and coverage! She has all the latest news on her!

You learn a little bit about the commoner turning royal, and where she was brought up and what she did with her parents, etc. We all know her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton who became millionaires from launching their business, Party Pieces and Carole was a former flight attendant that then turned into a businesswoman. I did a whole bibliography on Kate for my subject on Applying Information Services. It had me hooked! and I loved referencing off many websites that also have a love for the Duchess.

Growing up she lived a normal easy-going childhood, and was born in Reading, and grew up in Berkshire. She now resides at Anmer Hall with her beautiful family, and I was quite blessed to receive two replies from her in the past year!

and this was Catherine when she was five years old.

Catherine Middleton, graduated at St. Andrews in an Arts History degree on June the 23rd 2005. I find this fascinating as I want to do an Arts History degree specialising in Ancient History! This was her on her graduation day.

Also, This was her on her 25th birthday.

You can go to Vogues looks of fashion this year and eye out what she wore to every event! There are more photos and a whole timeline of her fashion. I particularly liked this dress she wore at her latest solo public appearance as its a soft grey and doesn’t look dull but neutral at the same time. It is a peplum styled dress and she decided to part her fringe instead of having it all at the front. This was when she visited the Send women’s prison with the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPt), an addiction charity that works to help prisoners addicted to drugs and alcohol. She learned about the role that addiction has played in the prisoners offences.

“I was reminded today how addictions lie at the heart of so many social issues and how substance misuse can play such destructive role in vulnerable people’s lives,” she said. “I saw again today that a failure to intervene early in life to tackle mental health problems and other challenges can have profound consequences for people throughout their lives.

This was her second public appearance after giving birth to Charlotte, who is now 1 year old!

Now I just have to COO over little Charlotte – everyone has seen this gorgeous picture of her at six months, and there has been newer photos, but I just LOOOVE this one!!!

princess-charlotte-6-months

She is a CUTE little thing! and I think it is sweet what they named her! Charlotte (feminine version of Charles) Elizabeth (After Elizabeth II) Diana (After Prince Williams mother).

and I can’t wait to watch her grow up, and maybe give future speeches!!! and hear how she sounds! I am sure we are all looking forward to future events, and you know I AM!!!!!

My favourite dress of hers is in my post, Real Replikate, the Alexander McQueen Champagne Lace Dress. Go to my post to buy a replica of this dress (if that’s your favourite too!)

Today I am going to try and find some new replica dresses online as I only have ONE!!!! yep!!! How unlike me! It can be a little hard trying to find the perfect size, and not being able to try them on, but the Issa Bird Print dress I’ve got was a perfect fit, so will be eagerly looking for more!!!

Anything to look like “Kate”!!!! hehehe

For posts on my replica’s, check out “Feminine Fashionista” or the “Issa London Blue Bird Print Dress” or have a look at Real Replikate to see my FAVOURITE replicate dress!

90 Years of Style

To celebrate 90 years of Queen Elizabeth the Second’s life, I have collated pictures of her style and fashion throughout her reign.

She was known as one of the worlds most glamorous women in 2007 by British Vogue.

In this pretty pink number, the Queen stepped out in Bombay during the Royal Tour of India, January 1961.

Over the years, the Queen has become famous for wearing bright, block colours, pearl necklaces, pristine white gloves, headscarves and plaid skirts.

Now her style is absolutely iconic, with her Launer handbags instantly recognisable and synonymous with her and Dolce & Gabbana basing an entire collection around her signature looks.

Queen Elizabeth II at the christening of Prince George, October 2013.

Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to the Newbury Races.

Queen Elizabeth attends the ceremonial funeral service of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at St Paul’s Cathedral. Black is always CLASSIC! So, even if it wasn’t for a funeral, I think this look would look great to any occasion.

This is probably a favourite as I LOVE the colour purple!!!! Here, Queen Elizabeth II visits the National centre for Bowel Cancer research, and surgical Innovation, after opening the new Royal London Hospital building.

And here she is with her sister…..

I’ve added a few more favourite photos, just for fun!!!!

I especially love this outfit, the colour and the pearls give a soft touch and I always am the type to wear pearls to every event I go to! Yep! I’m a pearl kind of girl!!!! Just something about it is so classy!

The Queen knows how to dress consistently, and has excellent taste in all things fashion! She picks the right colours at the right time and she always looks so immaculate wherever she goes! And I love that about her!!!!

I hope you have enjoyed the photos. I wanted you to mainly enjoy the photos, as there’s no particular order. I don’t have the fashion in year order or alphabetical order, but it is to just mainly ENJOY the photos!!!!

AND the FASHION!!!!!

❤️❤️❤️

Princess “Polyvore”

I recently came across a website called Polyvore. I have found a new love!!!

POLYVORE LOGO

You can create your own profile, and create your own collections and sets, so you can put together your own outfit choosing anything from tops, pants, dresses, accessories, shoes, bags, etc. I am currently a “Style Spotter” because I have created two sets so far. I need to create 23 more sets to become a “Style Setter”!!!

My second set that I created I called it an “All IT Pink Girly Outfit“.

I love what I have chosen, as everything that I have chosen is a soft pink colour, and it reminds me a bit of “Legally Blonde”! Except her colours may have been a bit too bright!

This is a collection of my favourite stylish pink stuff. Soft pink exemplifies femininity and I find that this is a very feminine collection. Have a look at all the things I have chosen below, and if you like, comment on what you think about it. I would love to hear what you think!
