Here I want to share with you 5 things that I believe will change your life when it comes to pursuing your dreams and living the life you imagine. I almost forgot about my piece called, Dare to dream, and half the stuff I don’t even think I have done, but putting plans and goals in place, (which is what I will flesh out on a bit more later on) is a milestone, and achievement. Gee, I think I say that word ALOT! Whatever it is you have been dreaming, it is time to look at what you can do to start LIVING IT!
It is on my heart to give some guideline as to how to live a life similar to Kate Middleton, rather than being consumed by women that educate young women about having Botox, or plastic surgery to have a successful and affluent life. I can’t believe the extreme that young girls go to, to look like someone that is basically artificial, rather than a simple natural beauty and stunner! Don’t get me wrong, I think Kim Kardashian is quite pretty, but she uses mascara over her false eyelashes! Or even doubles the false lashes! I also have a soft spot for Kendall Jenner.
It is more comely when a lady is refined and full of knowledge, cultivated and cultured, and I would be so happy if you found the following steps to be healthy for you and desirable for your life.
Learn to be classy
A classy woman is three things,
genuine, feminine and full of high quality.
Being classy is not found on your average street, and being high-class is so rare considering there is a lot of trash on TV these days. I don’t want to offend anyone by saying that the Kardashians are trashy, but from what I have seen myself, I don’t find the Kardashians ‘classy’, no offence to Kardashian lovers.
I may have mentioned this before in previous posts, but to be classy is all about holding yourself with particular style, a hint of elegance, an aura of sophistication, polished etiquette, grace and finesse.
Make your inner sophistication and stylishness stand out by dressing like Kate Middleton, following proper etiquette, and using sophisticated language.
At the moment I am reading an epistolary novel, which uses quite fancy words and is sort of poetic and literary. To extend and expand on your language I suggest you read great literary work, like Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Go to your local library and search for books on “language” or “allegory” to develop an understanding for technical terms and to help sharpen your mind. Learning to read deeper widens your semantics and perspective and creates syntactics, helping you with the form of words, semiotics and linguistics.
In a manner of elegance and gracefulness be aware of the tone of your voice, how you speak to others, what things you do to attract people to you. You don’t have to be theoretical or philosophical in the way you say things, (although that is very cultured and smart) but simply, stating something from a book or a movie could be advantageous. I particularly like the statement in Pride and Prejudice where they say “Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.”
This is a great example.
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! — When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
It sounds totally like me!
Practice your posture
You don’t have to put a pile of books on your head to do this, when sitting in the lounge or at the dinner table, make sure you’re shoulders are back, not by sticking out your chest, but make sure that your back is straight. When you are aware of your posture, a sense of self-confidence may come your way!
Watch and learn from other women
Is there a lady that you admire? Do you know a lady that knows how to walk properly, or dresses completely well that you just want to look like her! To be honest, I do feel that way when I see pictures of Kate, but apart from buying an original Dolce and Gabbana dress or Alexander McQueen gown, just to look like her could be overwhelming, so I suggest, go through your wardrobe and do a spring clean every few months and re-wear some of your old dresses without feeling ‘unroyal’.
Work on being polite
Most women or people in general are drawn to someone who makes the other person feel comfortable. Speak softly and sound gentle. Don’t talk too fast, yell or wallow in unrefined gestures. Look at yourself in the mirror daily and practice your smiles. This is very distinguished.
Develop your own sense of style
Putting together a classy outfit can be fun, so go through all your magazines (Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Elle) and create a vision board of what you like and what outfits you want to buy in the future. It can be outrageous and funky as you like, or pretty and vintage like Blair Waldorf’s style. Sticking to your own style is the best way to go! If something doesn’t flatter you, don’t wear it – having your own personal style and taste is the best way to exemplify your character and personality.
Always wear clean clothes, do your washing as much as you can throughout the week. Wear neatly together outfits and put on a little bit of lipgloss and eyeliner, with a hint of blush. During the day stick to simple ways to keep yourself looking fresh.
Wear a nice long black silhouette slender dress
This is the epitome of class, the perfect achromatic black dress. If you have one, show it off wherever you go. Black is always in style and never goes out of date.
Wearing something flattering like this, is so natural and classy.
Even if it’s not an evening dress, find or shop for something simple like this!
Going Audrey style is perfect too! She has been the epitome of class throughout the decades and especially, the era of the 50’s and 60’s, and has been a fantastic example as an actress, model, dancer and humanitarian. Widely known for her movies such as Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and My Fair Lady, “she was ranked by the American Film Institute as the third greatest female screen legend” as said on Wikipedia.
Creating a blog is a great way to get yourself out there and noticed, but sometimes not necessarily. You could work years on blogging and go nowhere, and all your work is just ‘archives’.
Talk to women everywhere you go, and talk about your favourite things. You have to believe in yourself and not just that, believe that you are high class first, and then be totally dynamic and hold yourself high. Learn to be a woman of value, and most importantly, be considerate. This will take you places and people never forget what you do for them. Marketing yourself doesn’t necessarily mean to “get yourself out there”, but basically holding yourself with dignity and respect and love for yourself. If you don’t do something for someone you are of no value to them. What you do for people is number one.
One thing I have learnt over the years is a woman of low value can be someone who has low self esteem themselves and they suck value from others, always getting something from someone and not giving back.
Develop rituals that support your self-worth.
A high quality woman is a woman with a high sense of self worth and we all know that a lady that knows her worth is someone of great value.
Do things to keep yourself busy and productive throughout the day. For example, I find my self-worth and confidence by writing this piece in itself.
You truly know and feel great worth by accomplishing much with your life, and I love the fact that Kate Middleton is not ‘just a princess/duchess’ but she is a woman that works hard for her country and she prepares herself for speeches, and engagements, etc.
I want to feel a sense of accomplishment in everything I do, and that’s what Kate would feel as well. Having purpose and contentment is so important and fulfilling, that sometimes I feel frustrated when I feel I am not doing enough! Even after writing this piece I feel I want to do MORE!!!!! And that’s a great feeling!
So, develop daily rituals daily by giving to others, developing fantastic relationships with your neighbours or friends at school or work, and try not to be judgemental, but full of love.
We can get so caught up with ‘worldly’ women rather than ‘classy’ women, that I hope that these eight points help you to live, learn and obtain classy points in your life. There are numerous articles on being classy on google, it is absolutely ENDLESS, but I particularly wanted to hone in on important factors that could help you be a little more like ‘Kate’!
I hoped to have read the list of 20 books in My Book Collection, but because of the whole move from Merredin to Scarborough it’s been too busy to just sit down and take the time to read, except for today….. I hardly had anything to do, so I pulled out a book that I had my eye on for months and I am completely taken by this one, because it is set in the Regency Period. I particularly like the period in the early 19th century because it was followed by the Victorian Period and was during the reign of King George IV.
There is a double standard, obviously. We have all either experienced it, or have seen it. There is a deep-set of cultural, psychological views that are manifest through this double standard… Some of these attitudes persist, and if they persist in as open, and in many ways transformational society as ours is in the 21st century, you know how deep they are.
- Hillary Clinton
What Mrs Hillary has so relevantly observed (see the quote above) stands strong and true as a modern-day Antigona caught in the winds of gender disputes. However, not all gender battles have to turn into wars; some of them may as well be competitive skirmishes leading into a joined future filled with tolerance, respect and love.
What needs to happen in both girls’ and boys’ worlds is that they need to become aware of each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and instead of using them as weapons to conquer one another, they should use them to build stronger and more meaningful relationships. And, in this togetherness, they both need to put their guards down a little.
This time around, we’re talking about some key points that will help girls fit into the boys’ world (and maybe even love it in the process):
I have come across a few favourites……. Well, ALOT actually……
I couldn’t help myself but google Fortnum and Mason today. It has been a dream the past couple of years to visit London, and enjoy a high-tea there. It is on my LIST! I haven’t visited London just yet, but I know that I will get there one day! There is something about that place, coffee shops, museums, art galleries, bookshops, and so much MORE!!!! I enjoy watching “Ladies of London” every now and then too.
I am in LOVE with this pink mug, Halycon Days Her Majesty The Queens 90th Birthday Mug in Pink
Halycon Days is a London brand. It is an English fine bone china mug that is finished with an intricate trellis design. Featuring a wreath of golden flourishes that frames the inscription ‘In Celebration of the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 21st April 2016’, this mug makes a wonderful addition to any home.
I am LOVING the GIFT section. They have a WIDE range of Bath and Body, Skincare, Handbags and purses, fragrances, jewellery, scarfs, flowers, tea, china and silverware, and hampers! There is so much to shop!!!!
There are TWO kinds of tea that I want to buy.
Created in 1907, this popular blend is named after the monarch who was on the throne in the year that Fortnum & Mason actually began. The smooth blend of carefully selected TGFOP Assam and Ceylon FBOP teas produces a strong, smooth tea that is refreshing at any time of day.
This luxury tea is classic. It has ceylon and assam. It was actually first blended for King Edward VII in the summer of 1902, Royal Blend has been popular ever since for its smooth, almost honey-like flavour.
There is also a tea towel that I absolutely ADORE!
This beautifully designed tea towel commemorates The Queen’s 90th in true royal fashion. Made in the UK from 100% cotton, this tea towel is finished in royal blue and features an inscription celebrating the UK’s longest reigning monarch.
and of course, I want to get a bag that represents……
They even have a lunch box you can buy!!!!
So that’s just a few to add to my ever-growing list on what to buy. I think that when I DO get to London, I will probably need just about ten grand!!!!

One thing I have been thinking about today is that – “Life is so very precious”. We can be here one moment and then gone the next. I lost a best friend when I was about 12-13 years of age to a car accident, and it was the worst feeling I had ever been through….. I cried for days, and had a lump in my throat for the whole duration from being in such an emotional state. I also lost my granny around the same year as well. So I understand how precious life can really be.
Sometimes we can be sooo caught up with “life” that we don’t even ‘experience’ life!!!!!
What does LIFE mean to you?
Your education? Qualifications? Work?
Is it about how much money you earn?
We can sometimes get so caught up in the physical that we don’t look at the spiritual.
You say, what does that mean?
I mean, stop worrying about what you look like, or how you sound and start spreading some love to the people around you.
It doesn’t have to be the kissy poo-poo kind of affection, it can mean you can just start smiling kindly to people you walk past down the street, or bake a cake for your neighbour. You may have just made their day! – you never know!!!! Or buy some flowers randomly for a close friend! People love it when you are thoughtful, and especially kind. Kindness definitely goes a long way and is a beautiful trait to have.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I recently hand wrote a bible scripture.
“Clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience”
This is one of my favourite scriptures, and I think it is vital to hold these qualities if you want a peaceful heart. Maybe start reading the New King James Bible, and get together some Proverbs that you like, and write them on some pretty cards. Or use them for scrapbooking or card-making projects!
I also like this quote:
“Live each day, as it is a precious gift, because it is.”
I think we need a fresh new perspective daily on life, and we need to pull ourselves together and make an effort when it comes to friendships and relationships.
Also, Passion is a key ingredient to the study and practice of life.

Have a look at this TO DO LIST! I ❤️ it!!!!
Maybe you can step back and have a look at your own life and write your OWN to do list!!! There are so many things we can change inwardly AND outwardly. When we write things down we have a clear note of what we need to do to live greatly.
I don’t know about you, but I want to do AMAZING things with my life!!!!! And live a hopeful, fulfilled, inspirational life.
What things can you do to succeed this?
Think this weekend about what things exactly you can do to love others, and share things with friends. There are a ton of things you can do to live a life of purpose.
I don’t just have a dream. I have a VISION and a purpose!!!
The word “vision” is profound, as without a vision there is no purpose and things don’t succeed as well. Have a vision with anything you do in life. For example, I have a vision for my blog.
“To create a platform for ladies to find inspiration and pull thoughts, ideas and advice together whether it’s beauty, fashion or reading.”
I may have more than one!
To me, vision is a BIG thing and I hope you find a vision for your life, business or work.
PUT THOUGHTS, JOURNALS AND QUOTES ALL IN ONE
It will keep you inspired with your work, business, blog, writing, or whatever you do!!!
So venture out and write down everything on a A3 peice of paper and visualise everything and write down your accomplishments. It will get you started,….. With LIFE!!!
I decided to go back through my blogs and have a read of them. I have surprised myself!!!! Some things I look back at and I go WOW! Did I write that!!!!??? Or how did I come up with that?
I have allowed inspiration to take with me everywhere I go! So I hope anything that I have written has inspired you about life.
I believe I have done my job if I have at least inspired or reached out to one person in this life!
I have surprised myself as a writer, and I am excited about this year. Like I said, I am in the middle of Library Studies, and I was very proud when I just finished an Assessment for Develop and Apply Knowledge of Information Services. I did a Cover letter, Selection Criteria and a Resume, for a position that the lecturer just gave us. It should take about another three months or so! I love the process of studying, and I am already thinking of what I will be doing after I finish it. I have PLANS!!!!!
I did a bit of reading and was able to finish this subject easily. From reading and writing, I am inspired to try and write something similar of Enid Blyton! She was my favourite author growing up, and when I was little I used to listen to the audio books of The Folk of the Faraway Tree, or The Magic Faraway Tree. Places like Topsy Turvy Land take me to a whole other world!!!! And opens up my mind to a BIG imagination….
If I just used my forbid imagination, I hope I can come up with something!!!! I am half way through “The House on Quill Court” and the writing is just beautiful. As per my blog, Great Goodies. I love it, and I think you will like it too!
I have totally forgotten what it is like to write an essay, but if I put my mind straight onto things I hope I can publish something. It is a BIG dream of mine! I had the dream of being an author when I was a teenager when I was in Year 10. I grew up without a TV in the house, so I spent a lot of my time reading, and I was a huge fan of The Baby Sitters Club or Sweet Valley High. I don’t read them anymore, but I wouldn’t be ashamed to still read them at the age of 29!
We all grow up in our own good time and I am still learning to grow up! Haha! Three months until I am 30! Eeekkkk!!! It is a great journey, and I love my life.
Although, I feel it would be better if I were living back in Melbourne, but maybe Merredin is just a passing through season. I feel it is to be a passing memory, as I know I won’t be here forever. My dream is London, as anywhere big like Melbourne would be heaven!!!! Harrods and Fortnum & Mason are DREAM DESTINATIONS!!!!
Now if you are wondering what this blog is about, it is not necessarily about anything! I just write what is on my heart or on my mind, and then I decide on a title after I have finished. I feel like I could write forever but I won’t bore you as much. I basically wanted to write about “writing” as it is the body of the blog.
There is so much to talk about when it comes to the broad topic of writing. People write for fun, work or a hobby, and my granny was a writer, so in my heart I wish to be like her. She only wrote two short books, but I would like to write a novel eventually, which she didn’t do based on one of the estates my ancestors lived in Cheshire. I have the idea of a novel, but will keep it a secret till I visit England and see firsthand what things are like there. I wrote two chapters so I was pretty chuffed with myself!!!!
I have a love for old English places and writing, so we will see how I go with it! I love books that are similar to Downton Abbey, as the time period takes you to a whole other place!
I can not WAIT till I go to England!!!! I feel like there is SOOOO much to learn, and I have a love for history of castles and palaces mostly, but Cheshire is on my heart as my great, great, great, great grandfather lived in Arley Hall. Check out Arley Hall and see what it is like!!! Like I said, I cannot WAIT to visit!!!!! For fun, you can also check out Tatton Park where my other ancestors lived. Doesn’t it look MAGICAL!!!!!!!!???? My heart is bursting to go!
It is definitely on my heart.
Is there something that you would like to write?
Is there anything on your heart to write? whether its journalling or a novel?
What are you inspired to write about!!!!???
What do you LOVE doing? What takes up your time?
What things keep you going through life?
I have found interests, and hobbies such as blogging to keep me busy throughout my life.
I love watching DVDs, such as Lost In Austen, and have taken an interest in many things such as Royal life, books, tv shows, and the list goes on!
Recently I had a conversation about “joy” with a group of people.
What gives you joy?
Prince William proudly said his children, Kate said “a walk” and my favourite one was Prince Harry saying “making people smile”. I thought that was VERY important and that’s something that I would respond with.
Making people smile and feel happy would be a rewarding thing.
This opened up for discussion for us and I said I find joy from blogging!!!! Hehe someone else said they find joy from helping others. I thought that was great!!
JOY is an amazing experience and feeling. I believe it comes from within….. Joy comes from the heart and is more lasting than just happiness.
Joy is better than just happiness,…. I believe it is an everlasting happiness, and it’s a content feeling you find in your heart.
What comes to mind when you hear the word “joy”?
I believe once you find something that gives you joy, you then get addicted to whatever it is!!!!
Or just try and have a joyful heart wherever you are!
I believe there is a difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is temporary, and keeps you feeling happy for a while but JOY is a lasting steadfast feeling. And goes on further in life!!!
So, TODAY! Choose JOY
One book I read as a teenager in 2004 was “Enjoying where you are on the way to where you are going” by Joyce Meyer. It is a spiritual christian book that digs deeper into the thoughts and joys of life.
We were given this life to enjoy every second, minute, hour, day, week and months and YEARS of life!!!!! Like I said, I am a spiritual kind of person as I did grow up in a church atmosphere all my life.
One question I would like to ask you, is, ….. Are you enjoying life?
That is something to think about, as I believe we were created to enjoy life to the fullest. I was once confused, as someone in a church said to me “Life’s not about enjoying it”, then when I went to another church, a friend quoted scripture to me and said that God said, “Therefore, I commend you the enjoyment of life”.
This got me thinking, how terrible would it be, to be known as someone that did NOT enjoy life!!!! You wouldn’t want that on your grave plaque!
If we can’t enjoy life, then there’s no hope for the future!!!! I believe we are called to ENJOY the journey that God has for us, or if you value a different belief system, a path of faith.
This reminds me of the scripture – “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to give you a hope and a future, plans to prosper you, not to hurt you” – Jeremiah 29:11 (Quoted from the Holy Bible)
This gives us affirmation into the destiny that is set before us!
A friend of mine, Diana Bordean, tagged me on Facebook to do a Gratitiude Journal.
A gratitude journal is something that will enrich your life and bring joy to your soul, by bringing out one thing: an attitude of gratitude.
It has been said that a new habit can be formed in 21 days.
Today I wrote down 3 things that I am most grateful for,
- My parents
- A roof over my head
- Mum’s cooking!!!
and will do it for the next 21 days.
I hope to begin to see changes in the way I think, by noticing those things around me that are purposefully bringing attention to, I want to recreate my mental patterns and hopefully this will change my life. It said, ‘You will begin to feel joy more and more and it will be contagious to those around you!’ Last night I actually went to sleep with a smile on my face!
Why don’t you start a gratitude journal and tell your friends to do the same thing, and let’s see just how much we can make the world a better place!
Get out your pen and favourite notebook, and start writing about what you are grateful about. This will help you in your journey in life, I believe.
Here is a more in depth article on Tips for Keeping a Gratitude Journal that will help you more with journalling.
I am looking forward to writing down what I am grateful for for the next 21 days. It will be hard, …. to think of more things, but I suppose, that it stretches your mind to think, and ponder on the most important things in life!
What are you most grateful for today?
Are you going to start a Gratitude Journal?
Is there anything that your grateful about that you’d like to share?
How many “I wishes” do you have? This is my list…
I wish I could read Italian and French.
I wish I could speak like a really classy woman
I wish I could be a MORE proficient writer!
I wish I could sew and design my own brand of clothes.
I wish I could do my own hairstyles
I wish I had a toned lean killer body
I wish I had a clean, massive, expensive wardrobe
Does any of this sound familiar to you? Everybody wants some sort of words of wisdom to keep them going in life. If you can stay inspired and focus on living and achieving your goals, then whatever goals you have, they can become bigger over time, as you set out to persist and achieve more. We all have dreams, and I have been a big dreamer growing up. I have been the “reach for the stars” kind of girl. Dreams and imagination play a big part from a young age. I dreamt for the “Mary Poppins” and “Disney Princess” life when I was little, and it is probably still in me because what you fantasise as a child can still play out as you grow older! But I do have different dreams as an adult. What are your dreams?
I love this quote:
“You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” — A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
“Allow yourself to dream, And when you do dream big” – Catherine Pulsifer
