My “Grown Up” Christmas List

Generally, every girl has a ‘wish list’ when it comes to Christmas. My current one is expanding, and I have been online more than I ever have been in my life!!! Even if it’s not on budget, I still am tempted to just browse, and add to a “WISH” list in my MS Word, so that I can refer to it when I am at home.

According to “The Age”, Australia is to spend 8.8 billion on Christmas presents this year!! With more than half of it spending on credit/store cards. I couldn’t believe the statistics! Now, that is why I got rid of my credit card. Been there, done that! I had one when I was in Melbourne and it was so easy to spend on things whenever you want, however you want. This year I decided not to go down that road, and try and save as much as I can to do the things I love and want in 2017, so I can pursue and follow my dreams.

So, here is my ‘grown up christmas list’ that will probably be on my list for the next year too!

Dressing Well

How do you feel about how you look?

Do you feel the need for a new makeover?

Do you feel like you need to put more effort in making yourself look more beautiful?

Beauty is a widely communicated topic world-wide. We have etiquette experts, leading lady’s in focusing on Makeup and Beauty, socialites in every city that talks about being beautiful in magazines, newspapers, articles are everywhere!

For a while now I have been wanting to target on “Dressing Well”. When I lived in Melbourne growing up I wore special dresses on a Sunday morning to church, and for years I wore only dresses on Sunday mornings, NEVER pants – that was Sunday nights. I used to love dressing up, and powdering my face. I didn’t wear makeup till I was about 16. I started with just eyeliner and lipgloss, but when I entered my early twenties I became obsessed with mascara, and eye-shadow, and contouring, etc.

When it comes to dressing, I have always liked lace kind of dresses – white lace or ivory laced dresses are my favourite because it is so effeminate, delicate and charming. I was a Cue enthusiast and people would brand me with that name! My first outfit I ever bought with my first pay in my first job was a CUE jacket and skirt, and I still have it after 10 plus years! I loved that outfit and wore it a lot.

I think if you have a corporate/administration job working in an office it is important to impress your bosses with the way you present yourself. I once put in a bit of effort and had a compliment from my boss! He said he was impressed! So, if you do work in an office environment it is imperative that you dress appropriately, and refine your look.

Print

Currently, Cue has a “wear to work” section on their website, and I think it is the best brand out there if you want to have a Corporate look.

A Work Look

You can pair a classic Black Cigarette Pant with a Georgette Ruffle Front Blouse.

Dressing well involves getting your hair done as well.

Looking Irresistible involves getting yourself together, and finding the perfect outfit and making yourself look right. If you haven’t seen my post on the brand Irresistible Me, check out the difference of me with my normal hair to wearing the new hair extensions!!! There is such a difference! Making sure you wash your hair at least twice a week, doing a hair treatment or mask once a week and doing a blow wave or straightening your hair is beneficial, and its imperative that you do it regularly if you want to keep yourself well-groomed.

MELBOURNE CUP LUNCHEON DAY

Getting organised for the Melbourne Cup Luncheon in Merredin has been quite cinch! In Perth, about three weeks ago I bought a couple of Forever New dresses and some from the Target Collection, so that I have a few to choose from for when I go out. I am not normally a Target shopper, but there was quite a few beautiful summer/spring numbers!! And Target is one of the main retail stores in the street of Merredin. Check out the Target Collection on line for some nice Spring Racing Dresses.

My choice of dress for the occasion was a Target Lace Shift Dress in Paradise Pink, which I paired with some Novo Designer Light Brown Heels. A picture of the shoes is also on my Instagram page that I wore to the Woolshed Hotel in Nungarin for a birthday. The ear-rings that I am wearing are Swarovski.

My very talented friend, Kirsty Mackenzie put together the dazzling fascinator in just half an hour!! I was going to wear a pink fascinator that I wore to Melbourne Cup two years ago, but thought it may not match the dress properly. Thank God for Kirsty!! She is so wonderful at making things look pretty and most of all I love her Skincare Range that she makes herself! She set up her products as a stall at the luncheon and is known as The Beauty Bus. Follow her on Instagram, and get updated on her products and see what she does with them! She also does an amazing blog…. Follow Kirsty here. My beautiful mum also did my hair!!

As I arrived, we were greeted with a glass of bubbly’s, finger food and there was a lucky door prize we could enter, and prizes for the best dressed and best fascinator. The Sophisticats Walking Team hosted it, and all money raised for this wonderful event is donated to the Perth Weekend to End Women’s Cancer. So the money went towards a good cause.

I can gladly say I WON Best Fascinator towards the end of the day!!! Best dressed went to a lady, Nola and Best Shoes went to Asha Carr. What I also loved was that there were stalls set up for bags, Park Lane jewellery, and Arbonne skincare and makeup. I tried a sample of FC5 Conditioning Body Moisture and it felt silky smooth and would be nice to put on for when you go out into the sun!! I think this product is a GREAT beach buy!! Zane Walker is an Independent Consultant and sells the Arbonne products! There is sooo much to try!! The products with a red dot were ones that had samples. Zane has been so kind and has given me quite a few samples to try, such as the FC5 Ultra Hydrating Hand Creme. This is a MUST try!!

So all in all, it was a fabulous day and eventful!! I won another prize, a Designer Brands makeup bag and a Heated Lash Curler, so I left with some goodies….!! And felt happy at the end of the day!!

Must Know Fashion Labels

designerbrands1

Recently I was talking to a lady in Merredin who owns a quilting company In2Quilting, and I walked in with my InStyle magazine and had a chat with her. As we got talking, I read out some brands to her, and she knew not of Elie Saab. We both came up with an idea of me recommending brands to those that don’t know of them. Growing up in Melbourne I have walked and shopped everywhere, and I have quite a bit of knowledge when it comes to designer brands.

As I was shopping online on www.matchesfashion.com I came across some Dolce and Gabbana Shoes that I simply adore!!! They have a laced pattern, and are embellished lace pumps. They are $971, a bit pricey but totally worth it!!! They are classy, and would look stunning wherever you are!!! They are a beautiful shoe, and I have added them on my list for when I move back to Melbourne. They will simply catch one’s eye wherever you are.

D&G LACE PUMPS

The shoes would look great with a Diane Von Furstenburg Zarita Long Dress which is $292, which is quite cheap for a designer brand!!!! It has a lacy look and would match with the shoes above. The colours will go well together, and cream/ivory colours are soft to make you look like a princess.

DIANE VON ZARITA LONG DRESS

To complete the rest of the look, opt for a Bottega Veneta Knot metal mesh clutch. It is mostly elegant, and would make you look a million dollars!!!! The clutch bag is $4,158, which is quite expensive, but if you have the money to splash for a designer brand. Bottega Veneta is the way to go!!!

Adorable FASHION Designer Dresses

As we’re getting closer and closer to summer, I have been all online searching summer dresses everywhere!!! I have come across a few favourites but haven’t bought anything yet, as I am organising myself for Melbourne. Just a couple of days away!!! I can’t wait!!! These dresses are added to my list, but while I’m in Melbourne I will probably go crazy with shopping and forget about my list!!! I have listed below a few “summer favourites”, and I hope you like them.

Here is a Spaghetti Strap Floral Print Crop Top and Skirt I found on Zaful. Click on the picture for information and to buy!!! This is a FASHION statement, and is so pretty for the summer.

I simply adore and LOVE this Strapless tulle dress by Saint Laurent– It is a part of the RUNWAY Collection and accented with ruffled layers, a flattering bow waistband, and a long dipped hem. This is expensive also, so if it’s a bit pricey for you, check out my favourite store, Forever New. There’s a pretty lace wrap dress called Zena, which is only $159.

If you have some cash to splash, check out this fashion designer brand dress. It is a Dolce & Gabbana Flower Detail Lace Dress. It is $5,349.

I recently bought a red lace dress from Forever New that I may post up next week. This is a Valencia Dress found on ShopBop. It has a lattice trim and sheer short sleeves. It is similar to my Forever New dress, but I just LOVE the sleeves!!! Click on the Shop Bop advertisement down below, if you want to shop for this $402 dress.

RED LACE DRESS

The last dress is a bit more cheap at $80, on the Forever New website. It is a one-shoulder floral design in pink, orange and purple. It is called “Eliza“, and is fashionable for daywear, for out and about town. Pair it with some sandals or a bangle, and you’ll look very summery.

FOREVER NEW DRESS

Next week I shall post a photo of my new Forever New dress that I am wearing for my friends engagement party. I recently went all out at Forever New as it has some gorgeous stuff!! For not so expensive, not so cheap dresses, Forever New is the go-to. For a list of the BEST Australian Fashion Designer wear, go to POPSUGAR.
