How to Own Your Style with Confidence

Even though the idea of discovering your signature style sounds really attractive, one thing is certain – it’s a process that requires a lot of time, energy, and effort, which can be really overwhelming for many women. However, the final results are completely worth it. Defining your style and being confident about it is one of the best possible scenarios, so stay with us if you want to know how to make that happen. Here are some useful tips on how to accomplish that and feel as confident as never before, so check them out.

How to define your personal style?

Defining your personal style isn’t a process that can happen overnight – it can take a lot of time, possibly several years until you’re completely sure that something perfectly fits your personality. We’re sure that so many ladies are still searching for their signature style, and that’s completely fine simply because it requires experimenting and playing with colors, patterns, fabrics, and patterns.

You have to understand that fashion isn’t about obeying the rules, since that certainly won’t help you define your personal style. Instead, you can take those rules as some general guidelines, but it’s totally up to you to decide what to wear and what to skip. This means that you shouldn’t try to keep up with the latest fashion trends at all costs. Of course, if being trendy and fashionable is your cup of tea, you can always include such pieces to your everyday combos, but we’re saying that head-to-toe outfits that blindly follow the latest trends probably aren’t the best possible choice.

Understand your body shape and find signature pieces according to it

The first step towards finding your personal style and being self-confident is understanding your body shape. This step is crucial because you simply need to learn which silhouettes will always look flattering on you, without exceptions. If you still aren’t sure about your body shape, you can use a body shape calculator to find out. Of course, your friends and family can be of great help, since they’ll always be honest when something simply doesn’t fit right or looks silly on you.

Besides that, you can take pictures of the combos you’re trying on, which can help you a lot to spot the pieces and silhouettes you should stick to. When it comes to your signature pieces, it can be literally anything you like – from a pair of killer heels and a designer bag to colorful scarves and interesting brooches. Remember Anna Wintour and her famous sunglasses? That’s what we’re talking about! If you’re more into alternative fashion and some authentic pieces not everyone can wear, you should know that it’s actually a huge plus, since such pieces are truly unique.

This means that you will be noticed no matter what, which will help you stand out even in a crowd of people. One of the all-time favorites when it comes to this style is definitely a signature gothic corset, which was adored and worn by a lot of celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Kim Kardashian. Apart from being really fashionable and stylish, this piece will accentuate your waist and make it look even tinier, which is never a bad thing!

It isn’t about the labels, but about your self-confidence

Defining your signature style and elegance is much more than just sticking to particular brands and labels – is more about being self-confident and comfortable while putting together your outfits. As already stated, style is personal and there should be no rules and trends to keep up with. You should follow your heart and know what looks amazing on you, and to stick to those pieces no matter what. Your style comes from within, from knowing exactly who you are and who you want to be, and that’s what makes you different from millions of other girls.

If you think that you’re beautiful, others will see you that way as well. That’s why you should love yourself in the first place, because if you don’t do it, no one else will. Always believe in yourself and you’ll see an instant improvement in your personal style and the way people perceive you. That’s the key to success when it comes to defining your signature style.

As you can see, coming up with your personal style can be a time-consuming process that can’t happen overnight – it takes a lot of time and effort, but it’s completely worth it in the end. Once you accomplish this task you’ll feel much more confident and authentic, which is exactly what counts most!

Feminine Fashionista

So, to begin with, I don’t know if I would call myself a “Fashionista”, but if it is defined as a ‘devoted follower of fashion’ then, yes,  I am well on my way to being one. In Melbourne, I went to the L’Oreal Fashion Week almost every September, and loved it……

The VAMFF is a world wide event that has girls from all over the globe attending. And we all know, Melbourne is THE fashion capital of Australia – hence, one reason why I miss that city so much!

This year it is in March and to book your tickets, go to their Events page where you can also see Fashion Weekend Runway showcasing their Autumn/Winter collection looking at the best designer brands and you can watch runway shows by your favourite designers and be the first to discover the trends of the season.

That is if you’re in Melbourne, of course!

Featuring some of these designs:

Anna Hoffman

Arya

Et Al

Isobel Rose

Odeya

There will be a lot of different runways, from gala to premium, and Vogue will be presenting the glamorous collections on the runway and Priceline Pharmacy is supporting the runway too. There are literally sooo many to choose from, and I am particularly interested in the Virgin Australia Grand Showcase celebrating Australia’s globally recognised designers.
Moving on, ……

Recently I bought a Zara top which is totally feminine! It’s lace sleeves leave you feeling feminine and it was such a great buy! I believe it was only about $15 on SALE, but I wanted to share it along with my favourite current dress that I have been dying to share with you for a little while now.

This is me being totally organised! I have a journal where I have learnt to start bullet pointing things to do, and every project, I write down all the things I need to do to get done, to efficiently work well on it, and have it all there in front of me, so I can take the journal to the library, coffee shop, or elsewhere and work on what I love to do!

What I find to be entirely feminine is this “Long sleeve lace dress” from YesStyle.

It is the replica of Kate Middleton’s white lace $3,450 Dolce and Gabbana dress she wore at the Ascot Races in July, 2016.

For me, this is a sensational dress I can wear to a nice occasion, or somewhere a bit more formal. I love it so much I could wear it anywhere, but it has its place to be at a event or wedding and such. I am utterly in love with this feminine dress.

So, I just got my haircut done at New Look Hair Salon, and asked for a style similar to Kate Middleton’s long bob that she had a little while ago. I was so wrapt with the outcome and results were amazing!!!!!! I literally felt like Kate Middleton after it was finished!

I felt like stepping out in style and elegance with my hair done, plus the dress and so I grabbed a coffee (of course) and chilled outside of Sambos, in Scarborough for awhile.

A few “Kate Middleton inspired” blog posts

I admit…. I’ve become an avid, obsessed “royal fan”, and it’s because of pageantry, pomp, and especially the royal fashion. I can’t wait to go to London next year, IF and hopefully there will be another royal wedding.  👑 👰

Royal Wedding dresses have been the talk all over the world, and every girl likes to hear “fairytale” stories and romance!

I have decided to come up with a few posts that either explain the fashion, or just inspire the fashion, whether they have an opinion or not!

Here is a few “Kate Middleton inspired blog posts” for the weekend.

1. All dressed up posts about Royal Fashion on “Dressed up Duchess“, which I looove!!!! I particularly love the Emilia Wickstead Wool Crepe Midi Dress, and I like how she talks about each piece with her own viewpoint on it.

2. Styling the Duchess of Cambridge on her world trip – The Style Artisan

These extra outfits are found on Polyvore – so you can check out different styled outfits that can make you look a little more like Kate!

3. I could totally relate with the Empty scribbler….. Here she posts about her “London Fantasy“…. and she sounds totally like me!!! She doesn’t mention Kate but I had to add this one in for you to see as her mentality is quite like mine! Never been to London but dreaming of it….

4. The Brown Girls View creates her OWN idea of a collection of what she can imagine seeing Catherine, the duchess of Cambridge, wearing. (I am trying to get used to not saying “Kate Middleton” anymore, but it’s hard because it stuck with me!)

5. A post by Bamaanie – GET THE LOOK completely on a budget with Witchery leather flat shoes and a Ted Baker blazer.

6. The Preen Finella Dress that Kate wore twice is on Kate Middleton Style, the black one at Place 2 Be and in September, to the historic reconciliation ceremony and reception in Victoria, Canada. The red midi dress by Thornton Brigazzi. I particularly like this dress and totally want it! I am hoping that if I don’t buy a replicate that I can get one tailor made.

My “Grown Up” Christmas List

Generally, every girl has a ‘wish list’ when it comes to Christmas. My current one is expanding, and I have been online more than I ever have been in my life!!! Even if it’s not on budget, I still am tempted to just browse, and add to a “WISH” list in my MS Word, so that I can refer to it when I am at home.

According to “The Age”, Australia is to spend 8.8 billion on Christmas presents this year!! With more than half of it spending on credit/store cards. I couldn’t believe the statistics! Now, that is why I got rid of my credit card. Been there, done that! I had one when I was in Melbourne and it was so easy to spend on things whenever you want, however you want. This year I decided not to go down that road, and try and save as much as I can to do the things I love and want in 2017, so I can pursue and follow my dreams.

So, here is my ‘grown up christmas list’ that will probably be on my list for the next year too!

Inspirational Quotes to live by

“Every woman deserves the chance to realise her God given potential.”

Life skills is quality. Education is attaining. As women, we have to realise our full potential and need to strive for superiority and excellency. If we utilise our mental ability and engage within our communities, we can do more and above and beyond than what we ever dreamed of.

“You have to be true to yourself.

You have to be enough in touch with who you are and what you want, how you want to live and what’s important to you, to make your decisions based on that.”

Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. And, when you stumble, keep faith. And when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on.”

Hilary Clinton

Dressing Well

dressing-well

How do you feel about how you look?

Do you feel the need for a new makeover?

Do you feel like you need to put more effort in making yourself look more beautiful?

Beauty is a widely communicated topic world-wide. We have etiquette experts, leading lady’s in focusing on Makeup and Beauty, socialites in every city that talks about being beautiful in magazines, newspapers, articles are everywhere!

For a while now I have been wanting to target on “Dressing Well”. When I lived in Melbourne growing up I wore special dresses on a Sunday morning to church, and for years I wore only dresses on Sunday mornings, NEVER pants – that was Sunday nights. I used to love dressing up, and powdering my face. I didn’t wear makeup till I was about 16. I started with just eyeliner and lipgloss, but when I entered my early twenties I became obsessed with mascara, and eye-shadow, and contouring, etc.

When it comes to dressing, I have always liked lace kind of dresses – white lace or ivory laced dresses are my favourite because it is so effeminate, delicate and charming. I was a Cue enthusiast and people would brand me with that name! My first outfit I ever bought with my first pay in my first job was a CUE jacket and skirt, and I still have it after 10 plus years! I loved that outfit and wore it a lot.

I think if you have a corporate/administration job working in an office it is important to impress your bosses with the way you present yourself. I once put in a bit of effort and had a compliment from my boss! He said he was impressed! So, if you do work in an office environment it is imperative that you dress appropriately, and refine your look.

Print

Currently, Cue has a “wear to work” section on their website, and I think it is the best brand out there if you want to have a Corporate look.

A Work Look

You can pair a classic Black Cigarette Pant with a Georgette Ruffle Front Blouse.

Dressing well involves getting your hair done as well.

Looking Irresistible involves getting yourself together, and finding the perfect outfit and making yourself look right. If you haven’t seen my post on the brand Irresistible Me, check out the difference of me with my normal hair to wearing the new hair extensions!!! There is such a difference! Making sure you wash your hair at least twice a week, doing a hair treatment or mask once a week and doing a blow wave or straightening your hair is beneficial, and its imperative that you do it regularly if you want to keep yourself well-groomed.

90 Years of Style

To celebrate 90 years of Queen Elizabeth the Second’s life, I have collated pictures of her style and fashion throughout her reign.

She was known as one of the worlds most glamorous women in 2007 by British Vogue.

In this pretty pink number, the Queen stepped out in Bombay during the Royal Tour of India, January 1961.

Over the years, the Queen has become famous for wearing bright, block colours, pearl necklaces, pristine white gloves, headscarves and plaid skirts.

Now her style is absolutely iconic, with her Launer handbags instantly recognisable and synonymous with her and Dolce & Gabbana basing an entire collection around her signature looks.

Queen Elizabeth II at the christening of Prince George, October 2013.

Queen Elizabeth II during a visit to the Newbury Races.

Queen Elizabeth attends the ceremonial funeral service of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at St Paul’s Cathedral. Black is always CLASSIC! So, even if it wasn’t for a funeral, I think this look would look great to any occasion.

This is probably a favourite as I LOVE the colour purple!!!! Here, Queen Elizabeth II visits the National centre for Bowel Cancer research, and surgical Innovation, after opening the new Royal London Hospital building.

And here she is with her sister…..

I’ve added a few more favourite photos, just for fun!!!!

I especially love this outfit, the colour and the pearls give a soft touch and I always am the type to wear pearls to every event I go to! Yep! I’m a pearl kind of girl!!!! Just something about it is so classy!

The Queen knows how to dress consistently, and has excellent taste in all things fashion! She picks the right colours at the right time and she always looks so immaculate wherever she goes! And I love that about her!!!!

I hope you have enjoyed the photos. I wanted you to mainly enjoy the photos, as there’s no particular order. I don’t have the fashion in year order or alphabetical order, but it is to just mainly ENJOY the photos!!!!

AND the FASHION!!!!!

Sophisticated Stylish Scarf

Today I went browsing and shopping down the street of Merredin, Western Australia. I had a look in a pop up shop and then went into Neka Accessories.

There were beautiful candles, and Pink Peoni was what I wanted!!!!

Here is a beautiful ceramic pot that I really want to buy!!!! Well because of the crown on it, I guess!!!!! It was in the local pharmacy….. It is such a timeless piece, and is stunning, I definitely want it!!!!!!!

Jewellery was displayed and I had a look at a colourful top, and ummed and aaaahed over it!!! There was a rack outside of $20 tops! It was quite a summery top, and had no sleeves…. I thought about it and left it…. But then, I walked over to the scarves and I found something straight away!!!!

You know that feeling when you see something, and without a doubt you know that you need it!!!!! Well, “want it”….

This stylish pretty black and white scarf is just perfect, and I HAD to have it!

I felt like Isla Fisher in Confessions of a Shopaholic when I went over to the counter and said “the scarf, please?” Hehehe

This is bound to be an excellent piece to have, ….. Forever! How stylish does it look!!???

I walked out of the shop feeling VERY pleased with my purchase! And I decided to NOT go into any other shops, before I spend all my money!!!!

The scarf was ONLY $20!!!!! I felt MORE than pleased and I know when I go back to Melbourne, I will wear it out for sure. !!!!!

So, if you ever find your way in the central wheat belt of Western Australia, NEKA is a great shop for fashion, jewellery, giftware and lots of accessories! They have good prices on their clothes, not too cheap and not too expensive.!

I know what I will be wearing with it…… Black leggings and a nice top to go with it!

Now I might go back down to the shops in it…… And show it off!

❤️
