Parkour has become increasingly popular in recent years. In October 2016, Parkour was officially recognised as a sport by the UK – the first country in the world to do so. Following this, London has become a hotspot for Traceurs (individuals who practice Parkour) to work on their craft.
Winter is on its way out and Spring is almost here, meaning that London is coming into full bloom. The appeal of warmer weather, an abundance of gorgeous flowers decorating the busy streets and the promise of longer days all make our city incredibly popular in Spring – just make sure you know how to deal with lily pollen stains if you’re heading for the parks!
Whenever you’re heading to London, it’s always a good idea to get some tips from someone who knows it well before you go. This is where I come in! As a Londoner, I’ve put together some of my top tips to help you make the most of your city break.
Avoid Rush Hour
If you’re travelling on the tube, bus, train or any other kind of transport, always, always avoid rush hour when you can. These times tend to be from between 7.30AM-9AM and 4.30PM-6.00PM. It gets super busy so avoid at all costs!
Plan Your Day
Before heading out, make sure you’ve planned everything. The places you’re visiting, the right tubes to get there, food places nearby – knowing what you’re doing and when will make your days a whole lot smoother.
Get an Oyster Card
If you’re planning on using the tubes and buses, definitely get an Oyster card. They make travel much easier and will save you a whole lot of both time and money! Head to a tube station to pick one up for free.
Buses Don’t Accept Cash
Our city buses are completely cashless, meaning that if you want to hop on you’re going to need either an Oyster card or a debit or credit card that uses contactless payment. We really are living in the future over here!
A Free Day Out
If you want to save some cash, there are plenty of things that won’t cost you anything in London. Pop to museums such as The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum or The Victoria and Albert Museum which are all free. If you’re lucky and the weather is good, take a stroll in a park. There are a lot to choose from: Hyde Park, Regents Park, St. James’ Park, just make sure you know how to get rid of lily pollen stains if you’re going in Spring or Summer!
We’re Not Big Tippers
Sometimes a tip will be included in the bill in London, but if not then around 15% should be okay. Staff won’t get offended if you don’t leave an exact percentage, though. A restaurant meal is the only time you should always tip, really – they won’t expect it in a bar, taxi or café, though it can be nice if you’ve received good service.
Avoid Shopping on Saturday
I would definitely stay clear of Oxford Street and Regent Street on a Saturday if you can help it. It gets super busy and your relaxing shopping trip will turn into more of a crazy ordeal. Check out quitter places like Redchurch street in Shoreditch for some quirky shopping spots you won’t find anywhere else!
Travel on a Bike
Boris Bikes are a cheap, eco-friendly and fun way to get around London. You can rent a bike from one of the many docks scattered around London and then pop it back into another one when you’re done.
Check Out Markets
We have loads of great markets that are on throughout the week, including in Camden and Brick Lane – two hot spots for lovers of all things alternative and indie. Check them out online and find one that appeals to you, whether you’re more into fine food, stylish clothing or quirky finds!
Places to Explore
If you’re in need of some inspiration of places to explore, here are a few popular areas of London that could be right up your street:
• Notting Hill
• Covent Garden
Don’t forget to take lots of pictures and enjoy your trip!

Today I am sharing with you one of my most favourite poems:
Lord, when I die, please let it be in Spring, 🌷
Let me see the swallows and hear a robin sing; 🐦
Help me to my window to see a butterfly 🦋
And watch the dreamy spiral of a lark up in the sky. 🦅
Let me hear the bleating of a new born baby lamb, 🐑
The gurgling of the water as it overflows the dam; 💦
The busy, busy buzzing of the ever active bees 🐝
And gentle sound of breezes whispering in the trees. 🌲
Let me enjoy the scent of spring when it comes to my last day
For that will give me pleasure as I gently slip away.
And may the last thing that I see be a little baby’s smile: 👶
For all these things have made my stay on this old earth worthwhile.
An Englishman’s Prayer 🙏

The Makeup industry has evolved a lot in the past few years, and standards of makeup perfection are very high. There are various makeup products available in the market, starting from eyelash curlers to highlighters, which have made makeup choice even complex.
Makeup is an art that one can learn.
But not everyone has the understanding of right makeup choices, applying techniques and makeover choices.
So, I am here with some simple makeup tricks and hacks that will make your life easier.
There is a variety of liners available in the market. Basically, liners are divided into three categories:
The pencil liner works best for the beginners because of its good grip.
However, liquid liners are more for professional use for thin, winged, sleek looks, whereas gel liners are the darkest and highly pigmented liners. I love the result of gel liners the most but gel liners are typically available in very few colours. To go crazy with different colours and texture of gel liner. I transform my coloured pencil liner into gel liner by simply introducing its tip to the flame for a few seconds. Let it cool, apply and see the change in consistency of the product in front of your eyes.
Make your Eyeshadow Shade Pop:
Many of us use primer and concealers to make our eyeshadow stay for a longer time period and to make its colour pop out. But what if you missed out your concealer? Well, don’t worry – the next hack is for you!
Do you have a white eyeliner? Yes. Great!
White eyeliner is a versatile product that can help you resolve many makeup problems. Well in this situation you can use your white eyeliner to cover your eyelid and blend a little. The opaque consistency of the white eyeliner will help sheer or less pigmented eyeshadow look more colourful on the eyelid. In addition to this, due to its high consistency it provides eyeshadow a base to stick properly. Know more about white eyeliner here.
Revive Your Eye Makeup:
Eye makeup products such as mascara or liner have a life of 6 months. But sometimes these products dry out really fast. Plumping mascara or liner tube is one of the reasons too. Well, to make them stay wet for longer, you can use a few drops of eye drops or saline solution instead of alcohol because they are friendlier to eyes. If you do not have eye drops we have another tip for you. Dip your mascara tube in a bowl filled with hot water for at least 10-15 minutes. This will also help you revive your dried mascara or liner. Find some amazing mascaras on this post.
Make your Customized Lipstick:
There are several makeup brands with numerous lipstick shades but there are times when you are not able to find perfect shade that you want or require. By using loose makeup colour pigments and Vaseline you can create your own lip colour. The benefit of this technique is you have control over the consistency of colour. Similarly, you can make tinted lip balms by replacing Vaseline with bees wax and coconut oil.
Avoid Peach Fuzz:
Always apply makeup with downward stroke because most of us have facial hairs and they usually grow downwards. Applying makeup with upward strokes will make your facial hairs standout.
Applying concealer with multiple strokes is not enough. If you apply your concealer in a triangular shape under your eyes, between your nose and cheek bones it will sculpt your face, blend well and less countering will be required. In addition to this, people who are suffering for breakouts can check concealers for covering pimples and acne scars here.
Well there are times when you fall short of makeup items and you think there is no way out. But let me tell you one tip that can save you when you do not have your liner with yourself. Take your liner brush and a mascara tube, open it and make sure that the wand contains enough product. Dab your liner brush on the wand and you are good to go.
The simplest and easiest way to have younger looking skin is staying hydrated. Our body requires water to drain out toxins from our body, which not only cleanse our body from the inside but we can also see it’s reflection inside out.
Like your lipstick’s shade but do not want to go glossy? Turn your glossy lipstick into matte. Apply your lipstick and hold a tissue paper between your lips. It will soak any excessive moisture. Now take face powder and by the help of brush, apply a thin coat of powder on your lips. Do not apply too much and you have the matte lips in the same shade that you love.

Nature has provided every woman with unique beauty traits. In every culture there are different trends and techniques used to enhance the beauty trait. But what remains same in every region of the world is to apply makeup to instant change. It’s been year’s women are using different makeup products to get a signature look. However main emphasis has always been on the eye makeup because your eyes speak. Eyes reflect the personality of a person. Therefore to enhance the beauty of your eyes we must be known to products that can help us achieve the perfect eye look. Well I don’t consider talking about as simple products as basic black liner or kohl as the basic product you need because it is too basic. However, below is the list of some eye makeup products essential for achieving different eye looks to turn the heads. In addition to this, few tips are provided to use them in the best way possible.
Under eye concealer:
First thing first! Dark circles makes you look like you have escaped zombie apocalypse. These days due to busy and hectic routine many of us experience sleep deprivation that leads to under eye circles. However sometimes they get naturally shadowed. Basic concealers are so common and sometimes not able to perform their job on point. At this time you take help of color correctors to hide your dark circles completely and then conceal them with the regular concealer. But let me introduce you to the one product that a stand as one-man army against this problem, the product is under eye concealers. Thick pigmented under-eye concealers are developed with peachy undertones that go perfect with every skin tone. It is a multi-purpose product that serves as a color corrector, primer and concealer as basic.
White eyeliner is another versatile and a multipurpose product. Using a simple brown and black eyeliner pencils where define your eyes and helps in achieving natural look. White eyeliner can be used for natural everyday look. Do you know tight lining your lower eyelashes with white eyeliner makes your eyes look bigger and brighter? Yes it does. Doing so creates illusion of eliminating gap between eye ball and eye lashes making them look bigger. Other than this, if you fall short of eye-primer someday you can use it as an eye primer before applying eye shadow to get a perfect sticky base for your eyeshadow so that the colors will pop-out when applied. Another way you can use it is to try create new styles. Double it with your regular liner and you are ready to flaunt.
Eye Makeup Remover:
As applying makeup is an art so is removing it. We usually get sick of removing waterproof mascara, creamy eyeshadows or gel eyeliners. After all these struggles, eye makeup remover usually comes at the last priority on majority of the makeup users list but it as important as other makeup implements. Eye makeup removers are composed of ingredients that helps you to remove those can’t stop, won’t stop stubborn makeup formulas. Using eye makeup remover protects your skin from drying and protects your eyes from getting makeup allergies and removes every bit of the makeup residue.
You would be thinking that who does not know that mascara is essential for eye makeup but mentioning it here has a different reason. Mascara is a quick fix for your eyes. If you are lazy and do not want to put any makeup, you can go for mascara to enjoy the perks of beautiful eyes. Therefore, from past decades women are using mascara to provide volume to their eyelashes. However by the time formula an application technique has also evolved. The shapes of mascara brushes have been evolved too. I recently tried tubing mascara that turned out amazing for me. Tubing mascara has the same formula as other mascara’s but different brush. Applying it makes your eyelashes covered on 360 degree with the product making your lashes even fuller. To know more about it check this post.
Tip: Always use an eye-lash curler before applying mascara to them, apply mascara by going back and forth this will leave a good amount of product on your eyelashes making them look fuller. For professional touch apply false-eye lashesat the end. J
Variety of color adds dramatic statement to your makeup. Eye shadow fulfills this purpose. There are varieties of eye shadows available in the market today. Creamy, glittery, matte and powder you name it you get it. I always prefer picking up an eyeshadow palette that contains all varieties of these color pops. This would help you going from natural look to elegant, from day time look to night look and funky statements. However, if you like to go for same color again and again try cream eyeshadow they are way pigmented then powder eyeshadows.
These are some products that you can use for signing simple eye statements in addition with using them creatively.

If you are like most people, you probably have a truckload of clothes and only so much storage space for them. Yes, wardrobes are absolutely amazing for storage, but they are not always used to their maximum potential.
So, before you go and buy a new wardrobe, consider upgrading the capacity of the one you already have. There are many ways to cram your stuff and actually find what you need. To pull it off, you are going to have to think smart, declutter, and reorganize.
Win half the battle right away
In a nutshell, the main goal is to use all of the space at your disposal and to do it in an organized manner. Instead of purging half of what you have, take everything out and store off-season clothes away. It’s best if you are working with a closet that is a blank canvas.
Once that is done, focus on the pile of clothes you need to store. Sort and fold them appropriately (yes, even your underwear) and see how they fit. Pick an organization method (clothing type, occasion, season). Note that in drawers and dressers, you can store pieces horizontally rather than vertically.
Don’t overlook dark corridors of the wardrobe, those back areas of deep shelves and high-up places. Store not-so-frequently used clothes there; you are more likely to wear something if you can see it. In case there is open shelving, try not to stack too high.
Explore all avenues
Next, you need to figure out how to make your wardrobe more efficient. First off, break your clothes into different categories.
You can install a second closet rod above the original one to practically double your hanging capacity. Buy a stool if you have to ensure easy access and include a set of hangers in order to use the space to the max. I would also check out cascading hooks, an ingenious way to make the most of hangers and vertical space in the wardrobe.
Furthermore, see if you can fit over-the-door shoe organizer. It’s usually a better option than the hang-in-closet counterpart that takes valuable hanging space. If all your shoes are already stored somewhere else, use an over-the-door rack for your bags and hats. Alternatively, opt for towel racks to make good use of the space behind the doors and store all those scarves.
Of course, the doors sometimes do more harm than good because you are unable to place the wardrobe where you really think it would fit best (corner of the room, for instance). Well, installing versatile sliding wardrobe doors will solves this issue. So, weigh all your options carefully.
Get it down to fine art
Make an effort to leave no wall or cabinet space unused. Attach or screw in hooks you can find dirt-cheap at the home improvement stores (they also come in handy in bathrooms and kitchens). In addition, repurpose small bookshelves to store shoes at the bottom of a wardrobe.
As for small items and knick-knacks, use jars, boxes, and cups. Buy some of these at a thrift store if you need to.
Of course, there are many other ways to maximize every inch of available space. We have covered a fraction of what is possible, so explore further. And if you are still unable to squeeze everything you want inside, consider some space-saving wardrobe alternatives, such as freestanding racks. They are a great mobile solution for smaller spaces, unlike enormous armoires.
Divide and conquer
If you are not happy with your storage situation, take a step back and rethink wardrobe space. Good chances are that there is a plenty of unused space. So, you must put an end to just shoving your clothes inside, closing the doors, and hoping everything will magically fall together. Rest assured that sooner or later, your closet will overflow.
To prevent this, visit a home improvement store and tool up. Use various smart organizing tools to ramp up the current capacity of the wardrobe. Don’t lose sight of wall and door space as well as those neglected deeper realms. The devil is in the details, that small things that make a big difference.

It is very difficult to define the term “beauty guru” as it is a word of the 21st century. According to UrbanDictionary, a beauty guru is a beauty teacher or any person that can teach someone about beauty. This century saw an increase in beauty idols, people we love to look up to, buy what they wear, and most importantly, people whose style dictates the new rules of fashion.
Ranging from actresses to singers and, the most recent trend, YouTubers and Instagram influencers, there certainly is a group of women whose style and look is so impeccable that we would definitely want to steal it for at least a day. So, who are the most important beauty gurus and what makes them so interesting and important?
One of the most influential and definitely most beautiful and successful Australian beauties is definitely Nicole Kidman, the human symbol of elegance and grace. Even at 50, this lady looks so perfect, and for a good reason – she takes care of her skin and is very meticulous. Yes, she has been under the knife a couple of times, but when you’re 50, that is perfectly normal. However, the condition of her skin is flawless, thanks to her tremendous love for skin care products.
According to an interview she gave for Allure, her favourite skin care product is Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Remover, as other anti-aging creams tend to be very strong for her skin type. But not only that – Nicole Kidman is an advocate for a healthy lifestyle and training whenever one has the chance. This fact, and the fact that she is a proud user of a quite affordable yet good skin care line definitely makes Nicole Kidman the Australian beauty next door.
She doesn’t only have one of the most handsome and funniest husbands ever, Blake Lively is also the owner of a beauty that ancient poets wrote poems about. The Gossip Girl star was a trendsetter as Serena van der Woodsen, and interestingly, it is a title that Blake has in real life as well.
According to her own words, she doesn’t pay too much attention to skin care, even though she is a L’Oreal Paris ambassador. She doesn’t rely on professional skin care maintenance, but rather focuses on light moisturizers during the summer and hydration in winter. However, her strongest power rests in her beautiful platinum hair. For that, she gave a small tip – rubbing coconut oil at the ends before shampooing it.
Even though she was unknown to some in the first half of 2017, after her engagement to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle became a definite beauty and fashion guru. This soon-to-be-royal is a true example of the less-is-more kind of beauty (just as Kate Middleton – it seems the British Princes share the same taste in women) – she doesn’t even put foundation on her face when she’s not on set! If you want to take a peak in her bag, you’ll see oils that she uses for both body and face, face moisturizers and candy lip balms. So, if you’re following someone’s beauty tips, why not the future Duchess’s?
One of the baddest gals out there, Ruby Rose really made a brand out of herself. Regardless of preferences, both men and women fell in love with those eyes and that hairdo. Even though she started her own makeup line, it’s the attitude of Ruby Rose and her androgynous looks that make her very distinctive. Moreover, she is the owner of some of the best tattoos in showbiz, and she wears them oh-so-femininely.
Every tattoo that we put on our body has a hidden meaning, and that is this capturing mystery of Ruby Rose. Her body is home to many different tattoo styles, so if you want to be more Ruby Rose-like, you should definitely get one for yourself. Make sure to choose one that has a meaning though – for example, choosing to get great Japanese tattoos in Sydney or any other town is a step closer to achieving this and also very popular and trendy.
One of the biggest style divas of the new generations is definitely Rihanna. This gorgeous Barbadian beauty is not only a fashion guru (as everything she wears becomes an instant hit), she is also a makeup teacher and enthusiast. Thanks to Fenty Beauty, her own hit makeup line, we can be a bit more like her. However, she doesn’t owe her beauty guru title only to her makeup – she is also the advocate of a healthy lifestyle, regular exercises and a disciplined life.
It is difficult to imitate the looks and trends of celebrities but, as nothing is impossible, we can at least try. The only thing we need to know is who to look up to and what the things that make them unique are. If we can determine that, then we’ll definitely know what the things that make us unique are.

The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. …
So, it’s a New Year. It is 2018 and I am ready to rock! Bring out the planners. Create a fresh new vision! Build my future and further business/work/blogger prospects.
Before I tell you my favourite books or quotes of the year, I want to reflect on the year ahead. I want to broaden my writing prospects. Study more. Read more. Have more “quiet times”. Be more community involved. Join a church. I have just started attending KingdomCity in Wangara here in Western Australia with the senior pastors, Mark and Jemima Varughese. Their vision is “connecting, equipping and empowering people to bring the reality of God to their world.”
But I just want to further my education goals and reach higher. Aim higher. Get more and better fast tracked results health wise, financial wise or any goal-oriented points I put myself into.
I am enjoying the peace and quiet in Landsdale to reflect on what I personally want and strive to do. I have done the Reverse Bucket List last year. Tick!
I have set goals.
I want to be creative in my ideas.
But now is my time to put things into action and for once, use my decision-making skills and learn the decision-making process.
I have set goals and tasks, which I could share with you, but all I am thinking is, the “refresh” button. I want to start all over again, renew my thoughts, clear my mind, do it with a clean slate.
I am a goal oriented girl, and constantly talk about goals whether they’re long or short! My full dreams and aspirations and all the things I want to achieve. I am a very creative type, so doing things to create a program and become creative in everything I do would definitely help. I would love to create a platform for women to gain confidence in themselves. Starting a finishing school in Perth would also be a huge ambition/dream. I am ready!
Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. …
So, I am pulling out “Your Beautiful Business” Book by Emma Franklin Belle and going to re-read this short inspirational book to see if I can turn my dreams of this blog into a business.
Emma Franklin Bell is the founder of The Beautiful Business Academy (The BBA). The BBA is an entrepreneurial academy for creative women who want to accelerate the growth of their businesses and successfully build their brands.

GUEST POST by Alyssa Molan
Knee pain is one of the most common problems faced by senior citizens and daily working people alike. It generally is chronic and causes a lot of pain and discomfort. The pain in knees is caused due to several reasons. The knee joint has a knee cap that cushions any sudden blows to the knee joint in case of a fall. Also, when we walk, the knee joints tend to face the friction and that damages the joint over ages. This makes it weak and prone to more injuries. All the causes of knee pain have several cures, but for that, you need to ensure that the diagnosis of the cause of your knee pain is right.
Generally, pain in knees is associated with arthritis. Arthritis simply means inflammation of joints. But what most people fail to understand is that there are over 100 different forms of arthritis, each caused due to various causes. That is why it is essential to first pinpoint the cause of your pain before defining the treatment course.
Sometimes, a person can have a condition that aggravates arthritis. Many people misread such cases and assume it to be a pain that is inevitable with age when it is not. So, to steer clear of all the misconceptions related to knee pain, here are all the common cause of knee pain every person should know.
Most Common Causes of Knee Pain:
1. Cartilage Tears: Cartilage is a tough yet flexible tissue that covers the bone ends. The cartilage in knee comprises the menisci on either side of the joint and thereby ensures more flexibility. A tear in this cartilage is called meniscus tear in medical terms. This tear is a common kind of injury. When you have a fall during which excess weight is applied on one knee, the cartilage is bound to tear. Such tears can cause acute knee pain problems which can worsen with time if left unattended. In most cases, it requires surgery to mend these tears.
2. Rheumatoid Knee Arthritis: This is a kind of a disorder involving the tissue around the knee joint. The tissue becomes irregularly inflamed and thickened. This chronic inflammation leads to the damage to the cartilage. Sometimes, this can lead to a complete loss of cartilage. This is one of the severe types of arthritis and can permanently damage the knee if not treated at early stages. Out of all the arthritis cases, 15% is rheumatoid arthritis.
3. Knee Osteoarthritis: This is one of the most common types of arthritis. This is found commonly in old people and is caused due to the continuous and progressive wearing of the knee cartilage between the joint. Mostly a problem occurring after the age of 50. With the wearing out of the knee cartilage, the range of motion of the knee joint gets limited. Other than that, the stiffness of the knee, swelling of the joint, deformity, tenderness and acute pain is caused. Osteoarthritis is governed by several factors like age, genes, previous injuries and illnesses, weight, etc. Overweight people are more likely to suffer from this problem as the knees are under more pressure.
4. Post Traumatic Knee Pain: This kind of knee pain is a result of a knee injury like a ligament tear or a bone fracture. The knee is a fragile joint and if there is a severe injury which is not given proper attention, it can escalate and become a chronic knee pain problem. If not tended to, the cartilage can get damaged over time and lead to stiffness and swelling.
All these common causes of knee pain can be avoided with proper care. Also, once the cause is figured out, treating knee pain becomes extremely easy.
