A Collection of Christmas Songs

It’s getting closer and closer to Christmas!
I thought I would do a list of some favourite Christmas songs. When it comes to this season of life, I love the time with friends and family when you gather to make special memories and not just receive presents, but to give as well.

Christmas for me, is all about that – giving and holding onto special moments. Holding specially onto the fact that you get up on Christmas Day and are looking forward to the day for weeks or days (even months!) and just getting to that time where you have a traditional crossaints and jam for breakfast with a Royal Albert High Tea  and right after your heart is bursting to open up presents!!!!!! And then passing the rest of the day just spending quality time with family.

An ‘English’ style…

This is my new ‘love’ – my first ever edition of “The English Home” which is, Issue 140, and it has 28 pages of bedroom inspiration. I gravitated to the cover of this magazine, as creating a style for any room is what I like doing. It has sooooo many ideas of interiors, a few world-class designers – such as the stunning collection of Hodsoll McKenzie of London, by Zimmer + Rohde, and wallpapers, patterns and all things decorative.

Homemaking tips to simplify your life!

What makes a happy home and a home happy?

“At the heart of any happy home is some one who is content bearing the fruit of love, joy, warmth and life in rich abundance.”

1. You are the centre of your home.

Married or single, you are the heart of your home!

Create a sanctuary where it feels homey.

How do I get organised at home you ask?

The Inspired Room is a great website to help you in organising and cleaning your house.

2. You are the comfort of your home.

This means you have the accountability of sheltering your cherished family. There are things you can do as a mother to keep, protect and teach your children.

I’ve always thought a housewife or Mum has the biggest job than anyone because your considered to be multiple things!

3. You are the adornment of your home!

Decorate your room with your favourite theme.

For example, I have created a “Royal” theme for my bedroom, because I have grown a fondness for the royal family, and like to keep a theme. My quilt is a Princess ivory quilt from Spotlight and when I move I will put up my three letters from the royals to keep the theme!

Here is an example of a “Paris” themed room!!!!

There are numbers of blogs on homemaking tips and advice!

I like the Small Notebook blog for basic tips on simplifying your home and space!

They say “Life is more simple with less stuff” and I wish I heeded to this because my room is cluttered with books, DVDS, and magazines! Sometimes I just can’t help myself! I like to have a clean room but then again I like my STUFF!!!!!

I need to heed to Holding onto sentimental things to understand how to simplify my things! This is a great article on choosing the right things to keep in your room. I’m sure you will love it!

I love this quote:

Homemaking isn’t about creating the perfect space, it’s about creating a space that feels like home.

It’s about creating a peaceful haven. I just got back from Queensland, and it was so nice to be back to my OWN bed and familiar surroundings.

It is good to keep good homemaking and organisational skills to essentially live a better life! I find that once I have vaccummed and added fresh flowers that it leaves such a great feel to the place!

I love the idea of homemaking and creating a haven where I spend most of my time! You need to create a space where you can breathe, live and love!

Your family would appreciate what you do in your home, and how you do things will reflect.

I have always said, your character reflects in your bedroom”….. Or something along those lines!

What theme you choose says a lot about your character as well!

I bought my white bed from IKEA which is an excellent website for choosing furniture and designing your room! IKEA home furnishings is great to tour inside the store, and get ideas for designing your bedroom, living room or kitchen!

Also, Here is 150 beautiful designer bedrooms to inspire you which helps you choose the right wallpaper, curtains, mirrors, etc!

I have vertical blinds currently and do not like them! I don’t think they reflect my character….. I like the idea of Austrian curtains as its more cozier and adds warmth!

To me, a house is not a home without the people in it, literature, furnishings, and laughter!

So, create your home with some of these homemaking tips and start simplifying!

You will feel a lot better after you do!
